Genshin Impact 5.9 Brings Lantern Festival Event and Free Four-Star Selector

HoYoVerse has outlined the Lantern of Nine Realms event coming to Genshin Impact in Version 5.9, available from 28 October to 18 November. The festival mixes lantern-lighting puzzles along the Liyue coast, a co-op trial domain, and an arcade-style score mini-game.

Free rewards explained

Completing every stage grants 960 Primogems, a bundle of Hero Wits, and one free four-star Liyue character, with Yanfei newly added to the selector after her kit adjustment. The final challenge stage also unlocks an exclusive namecard and wind glider skin.

The same patch reruns the In the Fires of Deep Reflection banner and adds quality-of-life updates: faster artifact loadout switching, a bigger teapot furnishing inventory, and clearer event tracking on the quest list.
